High temperature performance exceeds 150 degrees centigrade with standard fibre attributes and opens up possibilities for defense, security and sensing applications
Draka Communications, today announces the availability of a new high temperature acrylate optical fibre coating. A key building-block part of the DrakaElite specialty fibre family, the new coating is capable of 150 degrees centigrade continuous operation and up to 200 degrees centigrade short-term operation.
Draka’s new high temperature resistant coating is available in combination with state-of-the-art multi-mode and single-mode Draka PCVD manufactured optical fibres, including Draka’s ultra bend-insensitive single mode fibre BendBright-Elite. An exceptional temperature performance combined with the easy handling of acrylate will open up the market for a new breed of applications, especially in the sensing, aerospace, defense and security markets.
