Molex’s Compact and Re-Matable SnapMate Optical Interconnect System Offers an Alternative to Board-Level Fusion Splices
Molex’s SnapMate Optical Interconnect System provides the benefits of a re-matable optical connector with the small size of an optical fusion splice. The system uses high-precision, single mode LC connector and adapter components with a compact, reusable polymer housing, reducing the overall size and providing optimum optical performance.
The SnapMate’s 25mm long cylindrical housing connects the terminated LC-style ceramic ferrules with a ceramic alignment sleeve. This design allows the receptacle to be easily opened, disassembled for removal and the optical components re-mated.
