Draka LongLine - a brand new category of fibre dedicated to Ultra Long Haul (ULH) telecom applications and developed specifically for large telecommunication pipes across continents and oceans. The product minimises the need for repeater stations, securing CAPEX while providing major cost-savings for telecoms and long distance cable companies.

Draka LongLine has a record effective area of 120 µm2, 50 % greater than standard single mode fibres. This ensures that non-linear effects are minimsed and that achievable distances without regeneration are boosted to over 15 % in conventional systems and more than 40 % when using the most advanced format and transmitter/receiver technologies. In recent trials, samples of this new fibre have reached a record transmission of 11,520km at 81x40Gb/s.
