The Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP) product offering from Molex Incorporated
is the next-generation 4x hot-pluggable interface for high performance switches, routers, servers and host bus adapters for computing and telecommunication applications. QSFP integrates four 10 Gbps high speed channels into a single pluggable interconnect system, resulting in greater than three times the port density of SFP with lower power and lower cost per channel.
QSFP cable assemblies are available in both QSFP optical MTP, which meets QSFP interface specifications, and lower-cost QSFP copper solutions. Using 12 fiber 3mm round cable for short run interconnect cable assemblies, Molex QSFP assemblies supply improved fiber management in the chassis.
Molex QSFP MSA-compatible products are designed to minimize a customer’s design efforts regarding host connector signal integrity, module cage EMI protection, as well as thermal and lightpipe solutions. The offering includes the Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) shielding cage, a 38 circuit SMT host connector, passive and active copper cable assemblies, and passive optical cable assemblies.
