STOCKHOLM AND PRAGUE — Transmode, a leading provider of optical networking solutions, and Czech Republic-based value-added reseller partner RLC Praha, today announced that SELFservis, a Czech Cable-TV and alternative operator, has deployed the Transmode TM-Series in it's CzechBone network across the Czech Republic.
The SELFservis operated national CzechBone network provides local and national transit connectivity and a range of data services to a wide range of international customers and to local Cable TV operators. Customers such as UPC, Telekom Austria and GTS use the CzechBone network for high speed services. The Transmode TM-Series solution provides SELFservis with a Gigabit Ethernet over CWDM and DWDM network that takes full advantage of Transmode's iWDM (Intelligent WDM) concept and Low Power Design. This provides SELFservis with a scalable network offering industry leading Ethernet over WDM functionality, significantly reduced operating costs and lower power consumption.
"The expansion of the CzechBone network is an important project for SELFservis" said Jan Dasovsky, SELFservis' CEO and Owner. "As network capacity grows we need a solution that can scale quickly and differentiate our network, while keeping operational costs down. We evaluated a number of global WDM vendors and selected Transmode due to the company's focus on WDM technology. The Transmode TM-Series provides us at SELFservis with a solid platform for network growth while providing the best whole life cost".
Transmode's local partner in the Czech Republic, RLC Praha, provides SELFservis with a range of additional services, including 24/7 monitoring of the network.
